The week after Davos

Turning toward something slower

The third gathering in an ongoing inquiry. This time we take it up into the mountains, with plenty of room to rest, cook, hike and share what each of us is passionately pursuing.

We live inside many spaces of increasing enclosure: the land we stand on, the digital spaces we move through, and the attention of our own bodies.

Exclosures are protective membranes, places where we practise new patterns of living together and carry them back into the wider world.

Four enquiries

What we'll explore

A week for anyone who wants to meet this moment with more than their intellect: through dinner conversations, shared work, rest and time with the mountain itself.

LandCan the familiar tools of ownership be turned toward care for land held in common?
Digital spaceWhere in our digital lives can we carve out space that stays our own?
BodyHow does the body sense a boundary before the mind can name it?
TogetherNone of us can step outside the world we are entangled in. How do we live well between what we protect and everything we remain part of?

One week, two movements

We open with a weekend to decompress after Davos, then spend the weekdays coliving, with each day shaped around the projects people bring.

Sat 23 & Sun 24DecompressSkiing, sauna, rest and getting to know each other.
Mon 25 to Thu 28ColiveDays designed around the projects in the room, held by the questions above.

Questions

Can I come for just part of the week?

Exclosure runs from Friday 22 to Friday 29 January. The weekend is for decompression and getting to know each other, and the weekdays build on it, so we ask everyone to stay for the week. Extra nights are available on request.

What happens during the week?

The weekend is for skiing, the sauna and rest after Davos. From Monday to Friday we colive, and each day is designed around the projects participants bring, held by questions of land, digital space and body.

What is the Decentralised Autonomous Kitchen?

A shared way of cooking. For CHF 25 per person per day, we stock the kitchen with all the ingredients and recipes, and anyone can take a turn cooking. Meals are shared around the big table, with no rota and no pressure.

Can I bring a partner or share a room?

Yes. A second guest adds CHF 385 for the week, kitchen included. Just choose 2 guests in the form.

Is skiing included?

Lift passes and equipment are extra. Leysin's slopes and rental shops are a few minutes away. Skiing, snowshoeing and the sauna are all there for those who want them.

Do I need to be at Davos to join?

No. Many guests come straight from Davos, and the week is open to anyone holding land in common, working on the commons, or building the instruments that protect them.

How do I confirm my room?

Send the request form. We'll reply within a couple of days to confirm your room, then a 30% deposit secures it. The balance is due by 3 January 2027.
